Quagga is a routing software suite, providing implementations of OSPFv2, OSPFv3, RIP v1 and v2, RIPng and BGP-4 for Unix platforms, particularly FreeBSD, Linux, Solaris and NetBSD. Quagga is a fork of GNU Zebra which was developed by Kunihiro Ishiguro. The Quagga tree aims to build a more involved community around Quagga than the current centralised model of GNU Zebra. NetBox runs as a web application atop the Django Python framework with a PostgreSQL database. For a complete list of requirements, see requirements.txt.
Ping works by sending one or more ICMP Echo Request packets to a specified destination IP on the network and waits for a reply. When the destination receives the packets, it responds with an ICMP echo reply.
This tool is used for file transfer over FTP,SFTP and can work in Client and Server mode. Very easy to use and you can rely on it for any size of transfer. I remember working on some NAT issues where customer was facing difficulty with passive FTP over NAT on Cisco router, FileZilla was used to reproduce this issue and worked like a charm.
MTR is a modern command-line network diagnostic tool that combines the functionality of ping and traceroute into a single diagnostic tool. Its output is updated in real-time, by default until you exit the program by pressing q. Using traceroute you can find the number of hops required for a particular packet to reach the destination. You can use this command with pipes and grep to get more granular output like the IP address of the eth0 interface. It is very useful when you work on automation tools that require IP to be fetched dynamically. Linux mtr command is a combination of ping and the traceroute command.
The idea of this program is to have a tool that enables the user to debug SNMP activities in order to find communication and/or data problems in SNMP monitoring configurations. Use this tool to validate if your SNMP configuration will function with programs like PRTG Network Monitor.
Uncomplicated Firewall that manages a Netfilter firewall and is a well-known program and default firewall configuration tool on Debian and Ubuntu Linux distributions. The route command is used to display or modify the routing table. The ping command is used to check if a remote system is running or up.
